Maintain Dignity, Ch Parvez Elahi urges legal fraternity

Speaker Punjab Assembly, Ch Parvez Elahi on Tuesday advised the legal fraternity to maintain dignity in the society. “It is the responsibility of the lawyers leaders to maintain and strengthen a dignified position of the legal community in the society”, he said in a meeting with newly elected members of Lahore High Court Bar who called on him yesterday. He said lawyers should not tarnish their image among the people. He recalled that the Lahore High Court bar produced prominent lawyers. Parvez Elahi said that lawyers community was struggling for provision of justice to the people and the PML-Q was standing with them in this struggle. Lahore Bar’s newly-elected President Malik Sarood, General Secretary Ahmad Saad Khan, Senior Vice-President Rana Shahid and Vice-President M. H. Shaheen called on Speaker Punjab Assembly Ch Parvez Elahi. Thanking Ch Parvez Elahi, President Lahore Bar Malik Sarood and President Lahore High Court Bar Ch Tahir Nasrullah Warraich said that for the first time in his tenure that importance was given to Tehsil Bar and funds were allocated for the bars. “From all High Court Bars to Lahore Bar, not only funds were given but also historic announcements were made for lawyers including free medical facility for lawyers. Bypasses and heart treatments have also been made free. Housing societies are projects for the legal community are such projects due to which the lawyers would always be remembering you respectfully”, he commended the former Chief Minister for his services to the lawyers community. Lahore High Court Bar President and Member Pakistan Council Ch Tahir Nasrullah Warraich, Senator Kamil Ali Agha, Senior Advocate Jahangir A. Jhoja, Assistant Advocate General Punjab Nadir Duggal and Secretary Punjab Assembly Muhammad Khan Bhatti were also present whereas the delegation included Khwaja Mohsin Abbas advocate, Ch Safdar Hayat Bosal advocate, Sardar Akbar Dogar advocate, Haroon Duggal advocate and Ch Khalid Sindhu advocate.
